This organization leads innovations across industries, including Aerospace and Defense, communications, healthcare, and energy, addressing complex manufacturing hardware challenges. This role is fully remote, with occasional travel (up to five times per year).
As a Storage System Architect, you will define the architecture for storage/server systems, lead technology research, collaborate with customers, and guide design teams in creating solutions for both enterprise and cloud-scale storage systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in high-density storage design, modern CPU integration, and storage technologies optimized for performance, capacity, and scalability.
Strong knowledge in server design, JBODs and storage controllers and subsystems, as well as implementation of x86 based design as well as knowledge in ethernet, FC, SCSI, MVMe, SAS and PCIe protocol are a must. This role will be 100% remote with travel up to 5 times per year.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead architecture design for enterprise and cloud-scale storage systems.
Design hardware for high-density JBODs and storage controllers, including CPU subsystems.
Drive architectural trade-offs and optimize hardware subsystems and interconnects.
Develop solutions for modern CPU designs, such as Intel Sapphire Rapids/Emerald Rapids or AMD Genoa/Turin.
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver ORv3-compliant, Open Compute Platform hardware.
Innovate for performance, connectivity, and scale in data center storage, focusing on protocols such as SAS, SATA, NVMe, and PCIe.
Address challenges in storage system density, compute-to-storage performance balance, and fault tolerance.
