Job Description

A research group in Burlingame CA is looking for a motivated Research Assistant to join our team and support the human subject research studies we are conducting. The goal of the team is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. The team of researchers is evaluating novel interaction techniques and user interfaces to improve human experiences in the augmented world. The chosen candidates will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience in supporting data annotation.



Day to day:

Review and understand the project requirements and guidelines for data annotation, and ensure accuracy and consistency in data annotation by following established protocols and processes

Watch videos, view images, and analyze sensor data to identify relevant information for annotation

Use annotation tools to label and categorize data according to project guidelines

Collaborate with team members to provide feedback and suggestions to improve the annotation process and overall project outcomes

Assist with small-scale data collection and pilot studies involving human subjects

Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of experience annotating and/or working with video or sensor data

0-1+ years of experience working in a research environment involving human subjects

Strong communication, interpersonal and personal management skills

Strong attention to detail

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Holds a bachelor's degree

Familiarity with using annotation tooling to add labels, key points, bounding boxes, etc.
