Job Description

Day to Day:

Patient Care:
Prepare essential information, equipment, and supplies for exams
Assist physicians with procedure setups and patient examinations.
Perform patient care tasks, including vital signs monitoring, rooming, assisting with procedures, administering vaccinations and injections, and conducting necessary tests.
Administer medications following approved procedures and after verifying dosage with a licensed professional.
Process prescription refill requests according to established practice.
Conduct waived testing (urine dipstick, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing), perform EKGs, and administer immunizations as needed.
Collect and send specimens to appropriate labs for testing per protocol.
Assist physicians in maintaining preventive health measures for a panel of patients.
Promptly and accurately report and refer patient concerns, symptoms, and reactions to licensed clinic personnel.
Scheduling:
Manage patient physician appointments for new and returning patients using the scheduling system.
Schedule radiology appointments.
Customer Service:
Maintain clean and orderly exam rooms, hallways, and work areas.
Respond effectively to inquiries from patients, their relatives, and referring physicians, providing accurate information in a timely manner.
Offer information, referrals, and excellent customer service.
Act as a patient advocate, coordinator, and liaison for Stanford Health Care within the community.
Serve as a non-clinical liaison, concierge, and navigator for referred patients, addressing their needs before, during, or after encounters with Stanford medical facilities.
Clerical Duties:
Inform patients about authorizations and collect necessary information.
Collects patient demographic and insurance data and enters into systems as well as assigns medical record numbers
Assures appropriate verifications and authorizations are complete before patient sees provider
Assists with all messaging from the patient to the physician in a timely manner.
Other:
Coordinates with SHC Special Patient Services

Required Skills & Experience

MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required
Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school /institution or equivalent documented training. Required

Licenses and Certifications
BLS - Basic Life Support required
CMA - Certified Or Registered Medical Assistant preferred

Needs to be familiar with EPIC

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience
1 - 3 years of directly related experience Required
Some experience in back office as an MA with procedures or at a multispecialty clinic
