Overview
Moody's Investors Services (MIS) is also known as the credit rating agency, which is now called Moody's Ratings. Moody's Ratings is the industry standard for financial credit reporting -- they rate countries/companies/banks/businesses/etc. on their "credit worthiness" score. Moody's (previously Moody's Analytics) creates software products that are utilized by different types of companies that benefit from risk analytics data (banks, insurance companies, commercial real estate, etc.) by providing data, intelligence, and analytical tools to help these organizations confidently make better decisions. This position is on the Financial Engineering team within the Banking Operating Unit, where the primary customers are the banks.
As a Quantitative Analyst, you will analyze and assure the quality of financial statistics produced by Moody's leading-edge credit risk measurement and asset liability management products. This is an opportunity to help develop the latest breed of financial applications based on world-class financial research.
Key responsibilities:
* Planning & Strategy: collaborate with Research and Product Management teams to understand financial analytics needs, devising thorough testing plans and strategies accordingly
* Testing & Reporting: develop and implement test cases, conduct testing, analyze outcomes, and report findings to the project team for review. Build and execute data quality checks, analyze the data issues through closure.
* Collaboration for Quality Assurance: engage closely with both Financial Engineering and Software Engineering teams to guarantee the quality of the product and ensure its delivery adheres to the set timeline.
* Prototype Development: create analytics prototypes and establish benchmarks that will serve as standards for testing.
* Automation & Maintenance: construct and manage automated testing suites and regression tests, alongside maintaining financial testing frameworks for efficiency and effectiveness.
