A client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented QA Cloud Tester to join our team for a critical migration project. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless migration of data and applications from Snowflake to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, data migration processes, and quality assurance best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand migration requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Identify key components and dependencies involved in the migration.
- Develop comprehensive test plans outlining strategy, scope, objectives, resources, schedule, and deliverables.
- Design detailed test cases and scenarios covering all migration aspects, including data integrity, performance, security, and compatibility.
- Prepare and manage test environments for both source (Snowflake) and target (GCP) systems and ensure test data is accurately set up in both environments.
- Validate data accuracy by comparing source and target databases for consistency and completeness.
- Test ETL processes to ensure correct data extraction, transformation, and loading into GCP.
- Verify database schemas are correctly replicated in GCP.
- Test application functionalities in the new environment to ensure expected operation.
- Validate query performance to ensure no significant performance regressions.
- Ensure reports generated from migrated data are accurate and complete.
- Conduct performance benchmarking to compare source and target system performance.
- Perform load testing to ensure GCP can handle expected loads.
- Verify security configurations, including user roles and permissions, are correctly implemented.
- Ensure data encryption and security protocols are maintained during and after migration.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure existing functionalities continue to work post-migration.
- Identify, log, and track defects and issues, collaborating with development teams to resolve them.
- Develop automated test scripts to expedite repetitive testing tasks and improve accuracy.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Document test results, issues found, and overall quality status, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the migration process, test cases, issues, and resolutions.
- Conduct post-migration testing to ensure everything functions correctly in the new environment.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to gain final approval from end-users and stakeholders.
- Monitor the system post-migration for any issues or performance degradation.
- Provide troubleshooting support for any post-migration issues

- 3+ years of experience in QA testing, with a focus on cloud technologies and data migrations.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, and database schema validation.
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and query performance testing.
- Experience with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of performance testing and benchmarking tools
