Job Description

An employer is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join their team in San Diego, CA. The employer is an academic and scientific research institute in the biosciences industry and the Administrative Assistant will support business functions and key personnel. This role will require knowledge, interaction, and communication with multiple internal groups and departments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Answering phones, taking messages

- Organize and schedule calendar appointments

- Attend meetings and take detailed minutes

- Write and distribute various email, correspondents, and/or memos

- Maintain a filing system

- Editing documents

- Other assigned tasks

Required Skills & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

- 2+ years experience in an administrative role

- Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as Adobe products

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Must handle correspondence in a timely and professional manner, with a friendly and positive attitude

- Strong organizational skills

- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner

- Detail oriented capability, including the ability to handle activities effectively with thought toward outcome and process, to ensure that your work is accurate and trustworthy

- Ability to work with others of diverse backgrounds, as well as willing to step in and offer assistance without prompting
