Job Description

The Division of Research is one of the nation's largest research facilities outside of a government or university setting. We are the primary professional home of more than 60 research scientists and 600 staff members who lead studies in epidemiology, health services, and clinical trials. Our studies cover a wide range of clinical topics, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, substance abuse, mental health, maternal and child health, and women's health. Our research addresses broad issues, including the role of genes and the environment in health, the influence of behavior on disease prevention and chronic illness management, drug safety, health care policy, health services delivery, and disparities. We have almost 400 ongoing projects and contribute more than 500 scientific papers to peer-reviewed journals each year.



Partner with clinicians and researchers to identify key challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions.



Clean, transform, and integrate healthcare data from various sources to ensure accuracy and usability.



Develop and implement statistical analyses to uncover trends and patterns in healthcare data.



Communicate complex findings through clear and concise data visualizations.



Stay current on the latest advancements in healthcare data science and machine learning.

Required Skills & Experience

* 5-10+ years' experience as a data scientist, developer, architect, or related role

* Advanced in Linux administration and Python

* Proficient in Kubernetes (Rancher), MapR, setting up GPUs, Harvest, Helm Charts, Vault, Hadoop, Jupyter Notebooks, R (Rstudio), low-balancers (Traefik), PyTorch, Airflow

* Thorough understanding of building from the ground up AI/ML platforms, data ingestion proficiencies

* Academic or research background (understands how these tools are used in research)

* On-prem experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Proficient in Yarn, Yamel files, Docker, Prometheus, GitLab/GitHub, Hive, Drill, Livy, H20, Steam

* Scripting expertise, LDAP integration, Vault development, ansible development, VMware administration

* Experience with various operating systems CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu
