A large medical device company located in Irvine, CA is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to work for the Vision Care business. This person will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing medical devices for Vision Care. You will be identifying and researching failures to improve product quality and reliability while utilizing Solidworks for design and modeling. The ideal candidate will come from a regulated background and have experience with modifying CAD models, drafting 2D and 3D drawings for molded components, and drawing out parts with sheet metals. The day to day will include:
- Building a design for a Vision Care medical device
- Building and assembling parts
- Drafting 2d and 3d drawings
-Create detailed mechanical designs considering manufacturability and assembly
-Analyze molded and sheet metal components for functionality, durability, and performance.
-Writing test methods and change requests
-Conduct failure investigations
-Participate in design reviews
