An employer in the insurance industry is looking for a Software QA Lead to join the team and sit fully-remote. This person will lead a team of QA engineers that sit both onshore and offshore, ensuring the quality of their work. Their key responsibilities will include defining the scope of testing, creating test plans, and defining test strategies. They'll review essential test documents, track bugs, and actively participate in bug triage and resolution. Understanding test prioritization based on business risks is crucial. Additionally, the Software QA Lead will create risk contingencies and plans, perform manual test execution during critical business needs, and actively engage in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Coordinating with IT and business teams, they'll ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products. Their role also involves reviewing automation frameworks and scripts, supporting test data parameterization for automation, managing the automation testing schedule, executing automated tests for builds and fixes, and monitoring ongoing script maintenance. This role is more hands-on with manual testing, than automation testing. Overall, this person will guide and direct the QA team in day-to-day operations and testing activities.
