Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a strong Electrical Design Verification Test Engineer for a top client in the networking industry. This role is based in San Jose, CA, however, will consist of 75% travel (domestic and international) to remote sites. Responsibilities include:



1) Participating on a project team of engineers involved in the design, development, and testing of state of the art hardware for the Service Provider Business Unit Cisco 8000 product line.

2) End to end test execution of a program from concept commit into sustaining.

3) Executing complex unit and system level testing, debug, isolate, and provide failure analysis. Resouce will help facilitate the root cause, resolution, and closure of issues.

4) Collaborate with Diagnostics, Software & Power/Thermal/Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and support various hardware unit characterization requests. This include Signal Integrity SERDES verification, thermal and power captures, diagnostics and IOS- XR image validation, Pilot Firmware Bundle Testing, Optical Module and Interface validations.

5) Resource may author or modify automation TCL/Unix scripts as well as configure complex network topologies using Cisco Hardware

Required Skills & Experience

- 4+ years of experience in hardware test engineering

- MUST have valid passport and be able/willing to travel domestically and internationally (75% travel, 25% in San Jose)

- Experienced with Traffic Generators, Oscilloscopes, Power Supply, Multimeters, etc.

- Worked in a UNIX environment and familiar with UNIX scripting

Have solid knowledge regarding Cisco router/switch configurations, networking concepts TCP/IP, L2/L3 switching

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Automation experience (Python or Tcl)

Knowledge of fundamental hardware blocks & subsystems

- CPU/microcontrollers, LVDS signaling, PCIe, USB, clocking, signal integrity & power issues
