Job Description

Insight Global is in search of a Public Information Specialist to support one of our clients in Sacramento. This position would support the organization with a variety of tasks. This role could involve public speaking, public tours, creating articles for internal and external customers,

- Assist in planning, organizing, staffing, and managing logistical details of special events, community outreach activities, employee activities, and other projects or events

- Prepare articles, fact sheets, and content for various internal and external communications

- Design basic graphics using Canva, such as infographics, posters, displays, etc.

- Participate in various project and team meetings

- Read, understand, apply, and effectively communicate County rules, regulations and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations

- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the media, community leaders, County management staff, and representatives of a wide range of public agencies and private organizations

- Compose, coordinate, and edit a variety of educational, informational and promotional materials and other materials such as pamphlets, brochures and newsletters for dissemination and use by Department staff, public and private agencies, news media, schools, and the general public

- Research information and formulate recommendations

- Speak in public and before groups

- Design internet and intranet postings, including various social media platforms

- Adhere to deadlines

- Perform other duties, as assigned, related to the intent of the Public Information Specialist

Required Skills & Experience

- 1+ years experience in a public information or marketing role

- Experience creating content in Canva and other tools

- Strong written experience with attention to detail

- Bachelor's degree within Communications, Public Relations, Public or Business Administration, Journalism, English or another field closely related

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Previous experience working for a PR firm or Agency that supported State and Local Public information

* Public speaking experience or Guided Tours experience

* Experience creating content for a public utility
