Job Description

Oversees the assessment, improvement, and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of an organization's critical data assets. Helps support data accuracy, accessibility, and security to support strategic decision-making. This individual will work closely with other stakeholders, such as business data owners, data scientists, product owners and developers to foster a collaborative environment by ensuring data is consistent, reliable and all quality checks are compliant with data-related policies and regulations. Leads the execution of end-to-end Data Quality processes as per defined in the Data Quality Playbook and serves as key contributor to achieving Data Quality enablement, monitoring, and remediation objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis and Transformation:

* Extracting and inspecting data from various sources to identify discrepancies, anomalies, and inaccuracies.

* Cleaning and transforming raw data into usable formats, ensuring consistency and completeness.

* Quality Assurance across all the transformations between different layers of data

2. Reporting and Visualization:

* Collaborating with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and expectations.

* Building and maintaining accurate and visually appealing reports using data visualization tools like PowerBI.

* Creating ad hoc reports and summaries that convey key insights effectively.

3. Data Quality Assurance:

* Developing and implementing data quality checks to identify and resolve data integrity issues.

* Identify and troubleshoot data anomalies in the historical data and transactional data

* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address data-related problems and ensure high-quality standards.

4. Process Improvement:

* Identifying opportunities to enhance data processes, reporting methodologies, and data collection methods.

* Recommending and implementing improvements to streamline data flow and optimize reporting efficiency.

5. Documentation:

* Documenting data processing steps, transformations, and data quality protocols.

* Maintaining clear and organized documentation for future reference and audits.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as Computer Science, Business Analytics, or Information Systems).

* Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and data quality assurance.

* Conducts data quality & data profiling research

* Writes complex SQL queries / reviews datasets to determine root cause for data quality errors

* Proficiency in data manipulation and transformation using tools like SQL and Python.

* Through understanding of ETL process and familiarity with ETL tool like Informatica, Cognos

* Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.

* Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.

* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

* Problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and address data issues.

* Experience with data cleaning and transformation techniques.

* Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or Engineering

Experience in Electric and Gas Utility industry

Strong knowledge of data quality best practices and working experience on data quality tools and technologies like IDQ/Ataccama/Talend/Alteryx

Strong knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI/Tableau/MicroStrategy

Strong knowledge of data validation techniques and processes

Knowledge of RDBMS, data base engineering, data modeling, ETL, MDM and data warehousing
