Job Description

An employer in the San Diego Area is seeking a Security Manager to join their team. This role will be 80% day to day technical management, as the main point of support for a team of 4-5 people. Approximately 20% will consist of hands-on Network Security support, this includes configuring, deploying, and patching security firewalls and firmware, as well as fulfilling and supporting any security related tickets through ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will help analyze current security standards to implement new processes and technologies. This position requires on-call support, one week per month. The employer is looking for someone with strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors Degree (preferably in a technical field) or equivalent experience

- 5+ years of experience working in security operations

- Palo Alto Certification

- CCNA OR CCNP

- Experience using ServiceNow as a ticketing system

- Experience configuring, deploying, and patching of firewalls

- Must be willing to work on call 1 week of every month

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience or working knowledge within all or some of the following technologies: SolarWinds, Sumo Logic, FireEye, Qualis, Gigamon

- Experience managing direct reports
