Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Assistant Controller for one of our clients who is a world leader in entertainment, who also has a franchise business model. This role will be onsite 5 days a week in Irvine, CA at our clients headquarter location.



As an Assistant Controller you will be joining an accounting team of about 10 individuals, overseeing 3 direct reports and reporting to the controller. The direct reports you will oversee will include an Accounting Manager, a Senior Accountant, and a Staff Accountant. The rest of the accounting team reports up through the Accounting Manager, and in this role, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring the Accounting Manager.



Every day is going to look a little different in this role. You will be doing ad hoc reporting, pulling financials, putting cash flow and financial sheets together for the review of upper-level management as well as reconciling two bank accounts. Those are the operating and payroll bank accounts; the rest of the team handles all other reconciliations. You will also be working closely with the COO as controlling labor is one of our clients' largest areas of spend. Working with the COO to change/improve reporting for managing labor hours.

Other Responsibilities will include:

- Working closely with the Director of Franchising to help manage financials of franchise locations.

o Each location has a separate P&L so working closely to have a better reporting structure and process improvements with consolidations. Both foreign and domestic consolidations.

- Heading up all annual audits.

- Helping with the budgeting and forecasting of actual goods line of business.

- Helping to improve daily sales.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of accounting experience

- 5 of which have been dedicated to Senior Accountant or above.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP

- Inventory and budgeting experience

- Experience working with multi-state/multiple locations.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- CPA

- NetSuite experience

- Experience working in restaurant, entertainment industry, or with franchisees.

- Experience with foreign consolidations
