Job Description
Insight Global's client is looking to hire a full time Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper to work onsite in the San Diego, CA 92113 area. This person will be a part of the overall growing team dedicated to serving the federal, state and defense industry in San Diego and beyond. In addition to the bookkeeper responsibilities listed below, this person will be responsible for overseeing three other individuals on the team.
As a member of the accounting and bookkeeping team, this person will be responsible for preparing the companies (three different entities) books and integrating them via QuickBooks Online. This person will work with the team to diligently send out invoices and follow ups to ensure accounts receivables are collected promptly as well as handling accounts payable and cash flow management. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Achieve annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly goals
* Recording day-to-day financial transactions, debits and credits
* Updating the general ledger regularly
* Processing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
* Reconciling entries into an accounting system
* Producing financial statements
* Computing taxes and preparing tax returns
* Payroll
* Collecting, analyzing and reporting financial data
* Managing profit-and-loss statements and balance sheets
* Preparing budgets, financial models, financial forecasts and risk analysis assessments
* Performing audits and resolving discrepancies
* Assessing business performance and advising on reducing costs, increasing revenue and maximizing profits
* Evaluating financial operations to recommend best practices, identify issues and strategize solutions to increase operating efficiency
* Complying with all organizational, local, state and federal financial and accounting laws and regulations
* Capture and maintain accurate and frequent customer information within accounting and internal database systems
Required Skills & Experience
- Must be comfortable working fully onsite
- 10+ years of true accounting/bookkeeping experience (AR/AP, invoices, payroll, taxes, reconciliations, P&L, etc.)
- Willingness to train/mentor others
- Must have experience using QuickBooks Online
- Experience with Excel
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent accounting certificates
- Confident, enthusiastic, and go-getter personality
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- MBA
- Military Veteran highly preferred
- Government contracting experience
- Experience with government invoicing sites PIEE -- WAWF (Wide Area Workflow)
- Firefighting, law enforcement, first responder or military service experience is a strong plus
