Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an HVAC Technician to work in Mountain View for a government contractor providing facilities support services for NASA Ames Research Center. Support to AMES includes facilities maintenance, operations, maintenance engineering, and environmental and emergency services. This HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, repairs on various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in HVAC systems, including identifying electrical and mechanical problems, and determine the most appropriate course of action for repairs.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, compressors, thermostats, filters, and fans, to restore proper system functionality.
- Test HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and make necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
- Monitor and record system performance data, including temperature, pressure, and electrical readings, to identify trends and potential issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair activities, including service reports, work orders, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete work orders promptly while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining maintenance procedures, and offering recommendations for improving HVAC system performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to HVAC systems through continuous learning and professional development
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician
- Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting with the following: chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, pneumatic systems, modern digital controls
- Universal EPA certification
- Experience with commercial and/or critical facilities

- Experience with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting boilers
- Additional certifications
