Job Description

One of the largest mortuaries in LA is looking for an Accounts Receivable/Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. As an Accounts Receivable/Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for providing general support to the Accounting department.This individual would be responsible for working with all aspects of the accounting department, with a focus on Accounts Receivable. This person will work on the receiving side of the company's finances, maintaining client records and payment-related transactions in our ERP system, NetSuite. Additionally, this person will create account reconciliations, post company credit card charges, approve sales contracts following in depth review, and assist employees with reimbursements. There is heavy client interaction via phone calls as well as assisting our sales team.

Required Skills & Experience

- 4+ years experience in Accounting

- Advanced in Excel (Vlook ups, Pivot Tables, Formulas)

- Support Accounting team, include AP and AR.

- Post payments and update records in NetSuite.

- Answer client calls, taking payments, and providing payment status.

- Working with the sales team to adjust sales contracts.

- Creating and posting company credit card transactions.

- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and prepaid accounts.

- Reconcile accounts as part of month end close.

- Track payments for insurance purposes.

- Review and approve sales contracts.

- Banking, ACH transactions, and credit card processing.

- Assist with annual audits.

- Ad hoc reports as requested.

- Associate's Degree in Accounting

Experience with NetSuite
