As a Business Analyst for Insight Global, you will support the State of California in using FI$Cal (PeopleSoft), a financial management system that integrates budgeting, accounting, procurement, and cash management functions. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Documenting business processes: You will sit with different analysts and document their day to day procedures in the areas of accounts receivable, cash management, general ledger, and other modules. You will follow a standard template to input the information into FI$Cal and review and test it with the state staff.
* Advising on data entry: You will assist staff with entering the more complex transactions into FI$Cal and identify reports and queries to retrieve information as needed. You will also identify potential efficiencies and assess whether changes to existing business processes are either required or desirable. You will ensure appropriate cash management internal controls are in place to comply with state/federal standards.
* Integrating future project releases: You will help integrate future releases of additional functionality from the State Controller's Office (SCO) with existing business processes. You will anticipate and resolve any challenges or errors that may arise from the integration of new features or modules.
* Reconciling funds: You will assist as needed to reconcile various funds (both CTS and non-CTS funds) at month and year end. You will assist with the analysis of queried data exported from FI$Cal to identify reconciling items when preparing month-end reports (e.g. trial balances). You will provide support both before and after Period 12 submodules are closed in the system.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience on IT projects applying analytical processes to the planning, design and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations. At least three (3) years of that experience must have been in systems analysis and design.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT systems leading and/or working on the most complex IT applications plans, design, development, configuration, modification, testing, and installation for implementation and support of new or existing applications software; and managing a systems environment in support of an organization's IT architecture and business needs under general supervision. At least three (3) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.
* Minimum of one (1) year PeopleSoft FSCM version 9 experience.
* This classification requires the possession of a bachelor's degree. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
* Minimum of three (3) years each of PeopleSoft FSCM version 9.x functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience for at least three (3) of the following PeopleSoft modules:
o General Ledger
o Accounts Payables
o Accounts Receivables
o Costing
o Cash Management
o Asset Management
o Grants Management
o eProcurement
o Purchasing
