Job Description

Insight Global is in search of a Environmental Policy Specialist in Sacramento. As an Environmental Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various environmental programs and projects, conducting complex technical and scientific analysis, and developing and reviewing regulations and ordinances related to environmental issues. You will also work cross-functionally with teams to create policies, communicate with industry representatives and professional groups, and participate in grant writing and administration.

* Serves as a project manager or program manager for assigned programs and projects; coordinates with internal and external individuals and entities, data and records management, reporting, communication, preparation and development of final work products and processes, and problem-solving.

* Be able to work cross-functionally with teams to create policies.

* Serves as a team member for complex studies and projects; provides a variety of expert consultation regarding complex environmental issues, and regulatory and compliance problems.

* Meets with industry representatives and professional advisory groups and technical committees to discuss problems and develop solutions to issues of mutual concern.

* Conducts complex technical and/or scientific analysis and advocacy related to proposed and adopted legislation and regulations; provides written and verbal summaries, recommendations, and reports.

* Coordinates assigned functions and projects with other government agencies concerned with environmental regulation and compliance, as necessary.

* Develops, prepares, reviews, evaluates and modifies work products.

* Meets with other departments and agencies regarding plans, problems, and joint projects.

* Participates in researching, writing, monitoring, and managing grants.

* Participates in developing and administering program and/or project budgets and monitoring costs and fees.

* Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of clerical and temporary staff.

* Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

* 2+ years of experience performing project management, advocacy, or legislative and regulatory research and analysis for environmental issues.

* Experience developing regulations or city/county ordinances

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Science, Natural Science, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or other field closely related to the work.

* Great attention to detail, highly organized, and possess good verbal and writing skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.

* Experience working with government agencies or non-governmental organizations on environmental issues.

* Knowledge of current environmental laws, regulations, and policies at the local, state, and federal level.

* Proficiency in data analysis, GIS, and statistical software.
