Job Description

An employer in the Tijuana, MX area is looking for a SQE responsible for APQP functions in New Product Introduction (NPI) of precision stamped components, insert molded and post-mold inserted connector assemblies and shape memory alloy actuator products for the connector and electronics industries. This is a dual role that encompasses NPI and sustaining supplier quality, given that suppliers are selected during the NPI phase.



- Manage and execute all advanced quality engineering work for new programs and for improvement programs*

- Develop inspection methods, Control Plans, gauge plans and inspection plans*

- Perform measurement system analyses*

- Perform capability analyses, including "what-if" scenarios, and set up SPC for critical-to-quality characteristics*

- Manage 8-D processes for internal and external corrective and preventive actions*

- Act as central point for 8-D communication with suppliers*

- Lead preparation of PPAP packages for new program and improvement programs*

- Organize, collect, interpret, analyze, communicate, and present part measurement data, using effective data presentation methods*

- Improve product quality and customer satisfaction by leading efforts to improve existing manufacturing processes through implementation of APQP disciplines*

Required Skills & Experience

- Relevant experience in Quality Engineering* (BS Degree preferred)

- Able to read, interpret and understand complex drawings, and have a good working understanding of GD&T principles*

- Good data analysis skills, and a working understanding of capability analyses and SPC*

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- 3+ years' experience in Quality Engineering or related field, 2+ years' automotive experience preferred

- Experience working with Minitab or other statistical software package

- Preference will be given to candidates with experience or knowledge of advanced statistics, basic engineering, and/or high speed manufacturing

- Knowledge of automotive engineering specifications (AIAG, TS16949 / IATF 2016, VDA) preferred

- Certified ISO Lead Auditor preferred
