Optum onsite at John Muir Heath is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist (Tier 1) to assist with running their day-to-day operations for their Desktop Support team. This individual will be reporting up to the Desktop Support Manager and will be assisting with hardware and software refresh activities across their facilities. This individual will also be responsible for building out various machines, resolving tickets, fixing computer issues, moving computers, along with general desktop trouble shooting. This individual will be working onsite in a hospital setting and will be communicating with end users to understand their needs.
* 1-2 years of Desktop experience possessing a working knowledge of hardware components, hardware configurations, and have strong software experience
* 1+ year of Windows 10 experience
* Hardware/Software Break fix experience
* Desktop Imaging Experience
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Must be able to handle the physical nature of the job (lifting 40 lbs, crawling under desks, clean up, etc.)
* Strong teamwork skills, good time management ability, and proficiency to follow instruction
* Comfortable in hospital environment
* Must pass background check and drug test (marijuana will come back as a fail)
* Personal Transportation -- may need to travel to various locations throughout the East Bay
* Business attire
* Dress code: business casual - no jeans, no tennis shoes, no t-shirts
* Typical outfit: khakis, polo or button down, black or brown shoes
* Must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 + Boosters
