Job Description

An educational institution is seeking an IT Disaster Recovery Specialist to join their team headquartered in Irvine, CA. The DR Specialist is expected to help with assessment, planning, coordinating, implementing, and managing UC Policy IS-12 IT Recovery compliance and implementation at the campus. This candidate needs to be able to demonstrate strong coordination and communication skills, project management skills, and recovery from a disaster such as natural disasters, ransomware, cyber-vandalism, human error, or other disruptive activities. Working with the business continuity management to create, oversee, and maintain the location IS-12 recovery plans as well as create/update plans, policies, standards, governance, and reports. This person will also be working with the Disaster Recovery team and Unit Recovery leads to ensure IS-12 location, unit, and IT DR recovery test plans are aligned with the business continuity plans and help to remediate any risks. This position is 100% fully remote but this candidate MUST be comfortable working PST hours.

Required Skills & Experience

3-5+ years of IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) program design and implementation experience

3-5+ years of Project Management knowledge

Strong Business Continuity (BC) management experience

Strong technical background experience

Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with ServiceNow

Google Docs and Google Sheets knowledge

Experience in a client-facing role

Experience in training development
