Job Description
* Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
* Working as part of a team, perform server administration across a mixed OS environment. The majority of the server base is Windows OS but also includes Linux, and ESX (VMware servers).
* Administration and maintenance for the messaging environment (Email Services, Mobile Services, Collaboration tools, Instant Messaging, Web and Video Conferencing).
* Assist with managing user access to network resources (remote access, file shares, network printers, etc.)
* Proactively maintain the environment and initiate required corrective actions when potential or present issues identified.
* Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on Windows servers; provision new servers/environments.
* Research, identify and evaluate ways to improve systems administration tasks and processes such as patching, imaging, software distribution, ITIL and STIG compliance, etc.
* Address 3rd level customer support issues escalated from Help Desk; troubleshoot difficult cases, document resolution, and share findings with the group.
* Comply with internal procedures for change management, incident management, risk management and escalation.
* Document the company's existing application architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
* Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement.
* Confer with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development as directed.
* Develop test plans to check application infrastructure and application performance.
* Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement to management and ITS team members.
* Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.
Required Skills & Experience
- Must be able to do software installations.
- Must also know MS/Office/Office 365/ MS Teams from a support standpoint.
- Exceptional hands on experience with VMWare, ESX and VM Center
- Citrix experience.
- SQL configuratione experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Prior experience working in a healthcare, hospital or health plan setting.
