The Studios Technology Services team supports production technology workflows and media supply chain platforms alongside Studios business teams (production operations, post production, and marketing). We work in a team environment and interact with production personnel and studio executives at all levels.
Our Infrastructure Engineering team is looking for Sr. Site Reliability Engineers to build, deploy, operate, and sustain our critical infrastructure and systems in the cloud. The team will operationalize the stability and reliability of these global systems and discover innovative ways to scale and operate them reliably as we expand. You will deploy and monitor the systems, with automation to ensure that critical infrastructure is operating optimally while implementing mechanisms to prevent service impacting incidents. You will utilize trends and metrics to identify and communicate opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools and processes to continuously improve systems.
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer is a key member on the Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for developing the tools, platforms, and methodologies that deliver performant, resilient, and efficient cloud platforms and architectures. The site reliability engineer focuses on building scalable architectures and ensures delivery of solutions and services to our customers and business partners, while continuously striving to improve mechanisms and ensure reliability. SREs touch a wide range of infrastructure components, and have the confidence and ability to work effectively in unfamiliar situations.
A day in the life:
* Builds solutions for problems of sizable scope and complexity that have been successfully deployed to customers/users
* Champions Infrastructure as Code (IaC); provides thought leadership; establishes enterprise-level infrastructure patterns.
* Builds and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
* Regularly reviews existing systems, policies, and practices, while identifying solutions that enhance service delivery efficiency, and enhance the current environment.
* Mentors less experienced software engineers. Collaborates with other teams and engineers to find innovative solutions for moderately complex problems.
* Comfortable designing, building, deploying, and operating cloud systems, as well as resolving critical issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7plus years of relevant work experience working AWS Infrastructure in a production environment
- 5 plus years expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code automation(IaC) of AWS with CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform or other tools
- Intermediate to advanced coding experience with the one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Go
- Expertise in configuring, deploying, tuning, and supporting application platforms at scale on Linux
- Experience supporting media file transfer and transport systems like Aspera, Signiant, etc.
- Experience with web caching and load balancing technologies such as HAProxy, Varnish, and Nginx
- Detailed knowledge of core internet and networking protocols including, but not limited to TCP/IP and HTTP
- Proficient working with CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or other cloud orchestration tools
- Proficient with version control systems (Git, GitLab, SVN, etc.)
- Experience managing site content and configuration via CDN providers
- Experience integrating with CI/CD platforms and tool chains such as Code Pipeline, Jenkins, and GitLab
- Experience applying security best practices to application, system, and public cloud infrastructure
- Experience integrating with commercial and open-source monitoring and telemetry platforms
- Experience implementing and contributing to architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience with monitoring platforms like Datadog, New Relic, etc.
- Remote; must work PST hours
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10 plus years of experience working in Media & Entertainment industry
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect professional and/or AWS Certified Developer Associate, or relevant years of experience
