Job Description
An oil & gas client in Bakersfield, CA is looking for an Instrumentation Controls & Electrical Technician to join their team. This position is responsible for reliable instrumentation of gas turbine generators, working on not only corrective items but preventative maintenance. This individual will be responsible for instrumentation and controls of Cogeneration facilities which provide steam for enhanced oil recovery and power to the company oil fields and local grids in the following areas: Bakersfield (Kern River, Sycamore, Eastridge, and South East Kern River), Taft (26C), Cymric (6Z, 31X, and 36W), McKittrick (18Z), Coalinga (25D), San Ardo (Salinas River). This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisors and will also work closely with operations, engineering, and other business partners.
Required Skills & Experience
HS Diploma
California Certified Electricians
Valid California Driver's License
5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas OR Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation
Experience with gas turbine operation and maintenance with an understanding of balance of plant equipment and systems (PLCs, CEMs, HRSG controls, fire protection, breakers, pumps, black start generators)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in Power Plants OR Cogens
Electric Utility experience
GE Mark VIE Control Software
Experience Operating Ovation DCS Control Software
Experience Operating Allen Bradley Control Logix Control Software
Familiar with NERC Maintenance Requirements relating to Cogeneration Facilities
Experience with Continuous Emission Monitoring Analyzers and sample systems
