Job Description
This role will provide leadership and administration for the Office for Equity Diversity and Inclusion at a large higher education institution. The goal of this position is to advance diversity, equity and inclusion for students, residents, fellows, faculty and staff in the Department of Medicine in the context of scientific excellence, outstanding scholarship. and innovation. This position will work with Department administrators and collaborate with the EDI department for faculty and trainee events, projects, and goals. This is a leadership opportunity - establishing and driving forward programs and initiatives aligning with the EDI mission and priorities for Department staff.
The Administrator is responsible for collecting/analyzing data, and creating graphs, tables, spreadsheets and slide presentations; creating and maintaining databases, entering data, and creating tracking systems for program processes, research projects, publications, contacts, etc. Responsibilities also include working with staff on triaging issues and concerns; planning and execution of education programs and special events. The Administrator will also be creating, writing, proofreading, and editing reports, correspondence, statistical tables, and survey instruments; as well as creating and maintaining the program website and social media channels as well as creating their content including videos, flyers, and information sheets. Additionally, the Administrator also provides overall administrative oversight and support such as scheduling, preparing documents for and coordinating all meetings, handling purchasing, and reimbursements. The Administrator executes special projects as needed/assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
3-5 years of leadership experience within a DEI role
Experience creating and leading EDI related educational programming
Experience creating content and communications for social media platforms - website/content examples preferred
Strong analytical and reporting skills - ability to keep track of financial and performance data
Strong organizational skills to keep track of materials, information, and people
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to facilitate difficult conversations
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field
Experience in Higher Education field
Experience creating DEI programs from scratch
