Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Video Engineer to join our team. As a Video Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and supporting media encoding pipelines, streaming media workflows, and implementing DRM and watermarking technologies.



Your expertise in AWS, command line operations (Linux/Windows), and multimedia frameworks like FFMPEG will be essential to succeed in this role. You will be instrumental in building scalable technology platforms that can be leveraged to create a multitude of software products & applications that will help our Studio make and market our films.



Responsibilities

- Design and develop media encoding pipelines to ensure efficient and high-quality media processing.

- Create and maintain streaming media workflows, with a focus on technologies such as HLS (HTTP Live Streaming).

- Implement DRM (Digital Rights Management) and watermarking technologies to protect media content.

- Utilize AWS services and infrastructure to optimize media processing and delivery workflows.

- Proficiently operate in both Linux and Windows command line environments.

- Leverage FFMPEG and other multimedia frameworks to handle media transformation tasks effectively.

- Work with IMF (Interoperable Master Format) and ProRes formats to meet industry standards and requirements.

- Work collaboratively with a team of talented software engineers and subject matter experts to design, build, test and deploy software solutions that contribute to various studio workflows.



Project: KeySafe: voice casting video playback that is integrated with Debut. Disney/Marvel is building on their existing workflows, specifically a dashboard that will be used by Studio Execs on pre-released content.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3 plus years industry experience

- Proven experience in developing media encoding pipelines and managing streaming media workflows, preferably with HLS.

- Solid understanding of DRM and watermarking technologies and their implementation in media applications.

- Proficiency in working with AWS services for media processing and distribution.

- Strong command line skills in both Linux and Windows environments.

- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with multimedia frameworks like FFMPEG.

- Familiarity with IMF (Interoperable Master Format) and ProRes standards.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering results.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Familiarity with Telestream's Vantage transcoding and workflow automation platform.(major plus)

- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Node.js, and Python for customization and automation purposes.
