JOB TITLE: Quant/Qual Mixed Methods User Experience Researcher: Games User Research
What is driving the need for this resource?:
Increased need for user research support in the Content - Developer Strategy org
Business Objective:
Last year and this year one researcher has been supporting 20 titles and been able to cover all of them adequately. Plus there are other titles that have had no support at all. The addition of a new contractor for the year will enable the Developer Strategy team to fully support existing titles plus additional support for others.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Scope:
Mixed method UXR will interact with game development teams turning their needs and goals into research plans - either playtest or survey. For playtests they will manage them wholly: from writing plan to working with recruiting for the right players to moderating to synthesizing and presenting the findings. For surveys they will also managed them from end to end: writing them programming them in Facebooks internal tools or Qualtrics pulling potential respondents in SQ or purchasing them from a vendorL and analyzing the data in R or SPSS and writing the report.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 5 years experience running qualitative user research studies and writing and analyzing survey data and turning both into actionable insights.
Passion for video games and a knowledge of various genres and their associated elements and mechanics. This is a must.
Bachelors or Masters in Psychology or Sociology or related field
Education and experience with survey writing and analysis preferred
Top 3 Non-Negotiable Skills:
Experience with analysis and data modeling in R or SPSS
Experience moderating user research sessions
Experience turning qual and quant data into actionable insights
Technical vs Functional:
They need to understand the above especially R or SPSS
Nice to have/Preferred skills:
Video game user research experience

Bachelors is required preferably in Psychology or Sociology but user research experience 5 years will do too

5 user experience research both qual and quant** with one being more important than the other for each role
What is the interaction level this CW will have with the team/cross functional teams?:
Medium - High interaction level with XFN especially external dev teams making games for the Quest

Primarily being able to execute research on time and reports being clear and actionable
