Job Description

Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, conduct tests according to procedures and safety guidelines on electrical control equipment, generate test reports and inform supervisor of results.



Essential Functions:

* Conduct tests on electrical control panels

* Inspect equipment for visual imperfections, inaccuracies, and all screws, bolts and electrical/mechanical connections are correctly tightened

* Power-up equipment with correct voltage and electrically test all switches, breakers, contactors, relays, power supplies, and all electrical operation

* Check functionality of Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Speed Drives, Transfer switches, Power Monitoring Devices, Starters, Contactors, and Relays

* Follow written test procedures and safe work practices

* Troubleshoot test unit failures to determine cause and effectively communicate results to get failures corrected

* Maintain documentation of tests during process to allow for clear reporting of test results at the completion of the test

* Construct necessary tooling/fixtures as directed by test supervisor and as required to properly test units or components

* Maintain a safe and clean working environment

* Performs all other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

- HS diploma or equivalent

- Associate degree in electrical field REQUIRED

- 1-5 years of experience working with motor controls

- Knowledge of various Industrial PLCs relay logic

- 1-5 years of experience working with high-voltage (480) equipment

- Knowledge of devices such as Variable Speed Drives, Power monitors, Starters, Contactors, Relays, Transfer switches, and routers

- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly schematics and blueprints

- Familiarity with assembly tools and ability to read unit of measurements

- Strong mechanical aptitude

- Ability to use a variety of tools to test equipment

- Organized and project oriented

- Hands-on, can-do attitude, verbal, and written communication skills

- Good hand/eye coordination

- Manual dexterity

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Industrial experience from an elevator maintenance background

- Military background
