An employer in is seeking (2) Stress Engineers with experience in leading vehicle stress analysis, repairs, and production manufacturing. The first task of this role will be to review stress reports and finite element models developed by TSC engineering to assess the airworthiness of current flight test vehicles. The second task will be to lead a small team of stress analysts in support of continued safe operation of the vehicle and to identify weight savings opportunities. The lead stress analyst is ultimately responsible for ensuring the vehicle structural design meets the customer mission requirements with positive margins of safety.
* Works with a team of stress analysts setting priorities, maintaining schedule and providing guidance on proper analysis methods.
* Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering analytical definition of structural components and assemblies based on records from the prototype build project
* Develops standardized analysis criteria and templates
* Plays an integral role in the work flow release process for all structural designs
* Supports review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design and loads requirements
* Supports the creation of structural test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing
-Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline
-10 years+ of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element based methods on primary aircraft/spacecraft structure.
-7+ years of experience in carbon composites and metallic primary structures, analysis and sizing using FEA models
- Experience with Femap and Hypersizer
