Job Description

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their building engineering group in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA. You will help establish a mechanical presence in Southern California.



Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:



- Serve as mechanical and plumbing designer of record on many projects

- Serve as a technical lead advisor for mechanical design projects

- Provide technical input to studies and design projects

- Develop study and design procedures for a growing team

- Establish and build client relationships, participate in marketing, design, and production meetings

- Participate in review for code compliance

- Conduct schematic, design development, and document work meetings at project sites as needed

- Write and edit mechanical and plumbing specifications

- Select mechanical and plumbing equipment, systems, devices, etc.

- Conduct QA/QC on work of other mechanical engineering staff

- Work with multidiscipline teams through project development

- Track financial aspects of projects and coordinate work efforts of the team

- Work with project managers and other leadership on project reviews

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California

- 4+ years of experience in mechanical and plumbing design for commercial and/or federal projects

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Trane Trace software

- Previous experience with an A/E or engineering consulting firm

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- MS degree

- Experience with sustainable design projects (LEED)
