Job Description
An employer is looking for an Electroplating Process Engineer for a manufacturing company in Bell Gardens,CA. Electroplating Process Engineer is responsible for the monitoring, sustaining, and supporting day-to-day plating processes and programs on the manufacturing line, including developing and delivering strategies to improve and optimize processes in electroplating, and wet etching; developing and implementing practices or methodologies which reduce cost and improve operational efficiency; analyzing data, creating reports, and making presentations to groups; conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective action; developing and implementing procedures for transitioning new products in the manufacturing line; and reviewing, updating, and maintaining all documentation and NPI's.
Additional job duties:
- Reviews 2D and 3D engineering drawings and designs to enable manufacturability and support quality processes in ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP.
- Generates accurate engineering documentation (Routings, BOMs, Work Instructions, Visual Aids, shop drawings, etc.) to support the manufacturing process and changes to the products and product specifications.
- Design and develop end-to-end manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, new products, and related fixtures and tooling
- Researches and proposes methods for improving production yields via process/tool manufacturability optimization
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years experience working in Electroplating engineering
- Knowledge and application of LEAN Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience with GMP
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), factorial design of experiments (DOE), and other quality control tools
- Knowledge of materials characterization methods such as electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, profilometry, film thickness instruments, film composition, and film stress measurement
