Job Description

An employer based in the Los Angeles area is looking for a WordPress Developer to join the Monetization & Portfolio Management Team within Technology Operations. You will lead and support multiple initiatives with their Global Brands and Experience division. This role is responsible for developing according to technical specifications and/or approved mockups.

This is an individual contributor role working alongside one other developer on the team owning the back-end development of a WordPress site (internal systems)

Required Skills & Experience

- 6+ years of PHP experience, using Wordpress (proven ability beyond just "plugging in')

- 2+ years of JavaScript experience, preferably using React.js

- 2+ years experience developing or consuming a content management system

- 2+ years utilizing APIs or microservices, including familiarity with at least two popular authentication protocols such as oauth

- AWS experience: EC2 Cloudfront and S3 preferred

- Knowledge of standard source code management and build tools such as Jira, Git, GitHub Actions and Jenkins

- Experience working in Agile (Scrum or Kanban) methodology

- Experience working in very small and matrixed teams

- Familiarity with all stages of SDLC, including ticket refinement, unit testing, functional testing, and deployment.

- Github

- VS Code





Other Requirements:

- Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, both in person, on the phone or in virtual meetings

- Must be able to pay close attention to complex detail and understand written and oral instructions

- Must be able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities, communicating changes in scope and schedule to all parties concerned

- Must be able to demonstrate resilience and reset quickly if/when encountering potential setbacks

- Communicate with product and engineering teams, as well as business stakeholders and executive leadership

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Must be a self-starter -- as a member of a small team, you will be expected to lead your own deliverables without much oversight

- Working understanding of linux, apache, nginx, AWS EC2, Cloudfront, IAM

- Experience in Media & Entertainment Industry

- Consumer Products experience preferred

- Experience with Wordpress or Salesforce

- Comfortable with CI/CD

- Experience with multiple react hosting mechanisms, such as S3 buckets or nginx proxying
