Job Description
An employer in the bio-pharmaceutical industry is looking for an Associate Director, Medical Affairs Operations (MMRC) to join their Medical Affairs Operations team. MMRC stands for Medical Material Review Committee. This person has the option to sit remote, but the ideal candidate will be local to Carlsbad, CA and will come onsite.
The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Operations (MMRC) is being brought on to help drive a new project initiative within the recently formed Medical Affairs group focused on developing and implementing the MMRC process for medical material, information, and communications using Veeva Med Comm. The Associate Director will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including those responsible for promotional material review, regulatory and compliance matters, medical reviewers, and executive leadership.
The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Operations (MMRC)'s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement the MMRC process for medical affairs materials
- Coordinate and lead the Medical Material Review Committee (MMRC)
- Work with IT to centralize all medical material within Veeva Med Comm (Veeva Systems platform)
- Understand and educated others on the integration between Veeva Medical CRM and Veeva Med Comm
- Lead this MMRC project from discovery through implementation across the organization (very hands on)
- Collaborate with internal teams to create and implement standardized SOPs for medical material release
- Long term, he/she will support operations in a medical information function to launch a medical information support center (call center)

- Standard shift - Monday through Friday
TRAINING:
- 3 - 6 months to learn processes and gather information from the field

Required Skills & Experience
- BS degree in a related field (public health, clinical research, clinical psychology, communications, etc) with a preference for higher education (MBA) - Industry experience is more important than PhD
- 3+ years' experience using Veeva Systems platforms Veeva Med Comm or Promo Mats to create, review, approve, and distribute medical materials and communications
- 3+ years' experience managing projects focused on the review of medical promotional or non-promotional material within a pharmaceutical environment
- Experience collaborating with internal teams to create and implement standardized SOPs for medical material release
- Experience communicating with organizational leadership to ensure deadlines and processes are followed in line with SOPs and Regulatory, Compliance, and Medical Review departments
- Project Management experience - hands on experience facilitating the flow of medical material interdepartmentally
