Job Description

Approved Meta Remote Locations: Denver CO 82.79 New York NY 91.18 Houston TX 82.79 Los Angeles CA 85.29 and San Diego CA 82.79.
A VFX Technical Artist is responsible for the technical aspects of art and VFX asset development. This entails working closely with Art and Engineering to develop and support the VFX asset pipeline animation and rigging tools materials and textures pipeline and real-time effects using PopcornFX on a mobile VR platform.

Hands-on artistic work with VFX 3D generalist background Mobile VR experience a plus.

Job Responsibilities:
Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to define and develop content tools.
Design manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment.
Optimize content by enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation modeling and texturing best practices and implementing VFX using PopcornFX.
Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks.
Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads.
Thrive in a dynamic fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.

Skills:
Strongly preferred to have experience in working on a UGC product.
Must have experience shipping games using Unity or Unreal.
Creativity verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving ability are required.
Ability to work independently and manage ones time and tasks in an ambiguous environment.
Verbal and written communication skills communication across teams including engineers and artists.
VFX experience using Houdini C4D Maya Unity VFX graph or Unreal Niagara. Embergen or Bifrost a plus.
VFX experience on mobile platforms working within stringent runtime performance constraints. PopcornFX knowledge/experience a plus.
Creating tools and automation for one or more packages like Unity Maya Houdini Substance Painter Substance Designer ZBrush Knald Marmoset Photoshop etc.
Experience with game profiling and optimization techniques. Unity experience a plus.
Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
