(REMOTE) Data Modeler

An employer in El Segundo, CA is looking to hire a remote, Data Modeler. This individual will be supporting a data migration initiative- moving their environment from Teradata to Snowflake and Databricks as well as ensuring the constant optimization and efficiency of their cloud data environment. Work with users to help them understand best practices and advise teams to optimize spend in Cloud infrastructure. Accountable for developing the necessary enablers in the big data environment while putting emphasis on Query Optimization. Deep understanding of Databases and Datawarehouse's will be pivotal in this role.

* 6+ years of Data warehousing experience

* Experience working with Snowflake (Snowsql, Snowsight, Snowpark, Clustering, Search Optimization, warehouse sizing, Query optimization, evaluation Query profiles)

* Experience utilizing Databricks (Working with Python, Spark, Databricks SQL and optimization)

* Understanding Cloud concepts such as Compute options and Blob Storage and experience with Cloud infrastructure management with Infrastructure as Code (AWS, Azure, GCP)

* Strong SQL experience (Writing SQL Queries)

* Preferred Developer or Data Analytics nanodegree

* Comfortable in big data environments (Hadoop, Vertica, Cassandra) or big data engineering experience
