Job Description

The position involves activities associated with forecasting, planning, and managing of research portfolios by performing the following:

* Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research administrator to independently manage awards in compliance with University and institutional research sponsor policies, regulations, terms and conditions. Forecasts and plans financial activity for awards; performs financial transactions and maintains contract and grant records.

* Works on proposals and awards of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough understanding of complex regulations. Works on complex proposals and awards that may involve multiple investigators and / or multiple sub awards. Typically works on complex proposals such as grants / contracts which require task budgets, option years, multiple investigators, and multiple sub awards.

* Collects and reports financial and key project personnel data required by NIH agencies.

* Administers subcontracts and coordinates with collaborating institutions and their project investigators' team.

* Completes and approves transactions for signature by manager or other authorized institutional official.

* Support faculty through proposal initiatives that are not under the purview of the campus Research Management Services (RMS) unit.

Required Skills & Experience

* 3+ years of strong Post-Award and/or Grants Management experience

o Clinical Trial Payment Reconciliation/Research, General Ledger Reconciliation and Verification, Budget Allocation, and Financial Reporting.

* Demonstrate an understanding of various funding models including letter of credit, federal drawdown, cost reimbursable, fixed price, payable by milestone or project period

* Proficiency with Excel and Peoplesoft

* Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.

* Knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures and techniques.
