Job Description
An employer is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance Team. This individual would serve a critical role ensuring that WSE has timely, accurate, and useful financial performance data. This highly collaborate and detail-oriented person will run the Accounting processes at WSE including Month-end close, AR, AP, and Budget to actuals reporting. Additionally, this individual will assist with financial forecasting, investor reporting, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Accounting processes and an understanding of Financial forecasting and reporting.
Core Responsibilities:
* Manage the month-end close process, including consolidating financial statements, reviewing and reconciling the general ledger, as well as analyzing and explaining variances to projections
* Monthly reporting to internal stakeholders on financials, departmental budget to actuals variances, and show and initiative level profit and loss
* Assist in Annual Audits (Non-Public)
* Build out strong internal processes for the Accounting department, spending, and Accounts Receivable
* Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
* Responsible for recommending Accounting Policy updates on complex Accounting areas
* Build relationships across the organization, helping to manage departmental budgets and facilitate financial transparency across leadership
* Assist with Financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes to drive efficient investment across the organization
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance.
- 4+ years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Experience managing month end close, AP & AR, and accruals
- Excel expertise -- pivot tables, v-look ups, index match, SUMIF
- Knowledgeable of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and internal control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections; knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master's Degree preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred
