Approved Meta Remote Locations: Los Angeles CA 128.98 and San Diego CA 125.07 Fremont CA and Menlo Park CA
Preference given to the West Coast. The role can be remote of in office with a preference for in-office.

Summary:
The main function of the Data Scientist is to produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Apply knowledge of statistics machine learning programming data modeling simulation and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns identify opportunities pose business questions and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement.
  • Use a flexible analytical approach to design develop and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
  • Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
  • Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products services and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation.
  • Provide Business Intelligence BI and data visualization support which includes but limited to support for the online customer service dashboards and other ad-hoc requests requiring data analysis and visual support.

    Skills:
  • Experienced in either programming languages such as Python and/or R big data tools such as Hadoop or data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in writing including conveying complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics.
  • Experience working with large datasets.

    Education/Experience:
  • Master of Science degree in computer science or in a relevant field.

    The person needs to be physically in the US preferably West Coast PST time zone.
    Majority of the team sits in the Fremont CA office. This is the preferred location but Menlo Park Meta HQ is another option.

    Top 3 must-have HARD skills:
    1 4 years experience with data and analytics in businesses strategy marketing finance engineering or science
    2 3 years of experience with SQL Oracle Vertica Hive MySQL etc. or a scripting language for data analysis is required
    3 3 years experience with statistical analysis. Stat packages such as R MATLAB SPSS SAS Stata etc.

    Good to have skills: 1 Product analytics experience
    2 Python or R
    3 Background in Supply Chain or Operations

    Disqualifiers 4 overall 3 in SQL Data analysis software
    Have worked with large datasets developed statistical models worked in a cross functional set up analyzed and presented complex problems and solutions to technical and non-technical audience.
    Masters in quantitative field. 1 years of experience if BA/BSc degree

    How will performance be measured i.e. Weekly/Monthly KPIs 3-5 specific measurables or milestones? We want to capture this so everyone understands on the front-end how the worker will be successful and to ultimately be aligned should there be performance issues after the worker starts assignment
    Work with PMs in developing roadmap and goaling for products develop metrics baseline and targets in accordance with EP wide timelines
    Maintain a healthy backlog of operational analysis requests from XFN teams.
    Develop DS roadmap for strategic projects and execute on them in a timely fashion as agreed upon with manager.
