Job Description
An employer is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team in San Diego, CA. The employer is a large company in the semiconductor industry. This will involve working with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to document the use of business systems, processes, and ways of workings. Managing both the development and publication, as well as the administrative tasks involved . As part of the Operations department, you will collaborate with leadership to support the continuous enhancement of our business process management, compliance to the quality assurance standards, and organizational improvement initiatives.
* Interview and consult with Subject Matter Experts.
* Converts input from Subject matter Experts and/or development documentation into a simplified document for the target audience.
* Analyze both formal and informal technical and business processes.
* Apply process mapping skills to document and standardize process improvements.
* Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operational Business Process Management documents.
* Author documentation utilizing standard authoring tools.
* Convert a document to a different format (FrameMaker to MS Word, MS Word to XML).
* Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
* Process feedback and implementing changes in existing documentation.
* Conduct technical reviews and validate technical documentation.
* Participate in technical documentation development and project meetings.
* Administer SharePoint: content, permissions, and structure.
* Engage with and ensure the alignment of project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent experience desired
* 2+ years direct work experience required
* Certification in Process Management preferred (AQPC, EBPI, PII, etc.)
* Experience in a technical environment preferred
* Experience working in organizational and/or technical environment preferred
* Experience working in the semiconductor, manufacturing, or technical industries is a plus
* Experience working in a world-wide organization with multiple global locations desired
* Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems
* Must possess an understanding of documentation standards and assist in defining Business Process document structures
* Must be knowledgeable in defining business system documentation requirements
* Must possess a thorough understanding of documentation standards
