Job Description

This position is part of Genentech's EHS function. EHS plays an essential role in protecting Genentech's right to operate: serving as a steward for the Genentech culture; embracing prevention; and problem solving to reduce risks and protect our people, environment, and pipeline on our SSF campus and network of places, including field-based employees. At Genentech, compliance is a shared responsibility with the business.



This position will work closely with the EHS leadership team, program managers, business partners, specialists, and clients to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a variety of EHS programs, projects, and initiatives. These efforts are intended to balance protection against risk with the need to deliver with speed and add value to the business. The EHS Business Analyst handles special projects and more complex issues in a variety of EHS-related areas in addition to providing some general administrative support services for the South San Francisco EHS department at Genentech.



Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Executes tasks in support of the EHS Leadership Team and EHS staff with direction and guidance from their manager. The work may include: training logistics, data collection, follow-up on corrective actions, recordkeeping, researching requirements.

Assists with business process improvement activity as a team member, contributing to a proactive EHS culture. Champions EHS with key stakeholders.

Project and program management duties:

o Project Management:

Serves as a team member and EHS representative on projects that involve the implementation of new technology or processes supporting finance, documentation, recordkeeping, data management, work requests, or similar systems.

Liaise regularly with Informatics (IT) on behalf of EHS and lead maintenance and change efforts for technology and/or processes supporting finance, documentation, recordkeeping, data management, work requests, or similar systems.

o Communication:

Responds to, directs, and dispositions service requests from clients that come in through the EHS Help Desk hotline and ServiceHub. Establishes and produces key performance indicators (KPIs) for the service requests and provides insight to the EHS LT and other key stakeholders as to the effectiveness of the program.

Manages and updates EHS website content and Google Sites including the EHS Portal (internal to EHS) and individual team sites.

Supports the Safety Officer and/or EHS Advisor(s) during disaster/emergency response and recovery efforts.

o Technology, Analytics, and Reporting:

Supports implementation of the EHS technology roadmap and maintenance of existing infrastructure. Ensures technology (i.e., Tableau dashboards) properly reports EHS status, metrics, and insights.

o Administration

Owns the onboarding and offboarding process for all EHS new hires, including interns and external partners.

Coordinates the annual training calendar for all EHS programs and manages transactional training-related tickets in Cornerstone.

Coordinates and manages scheduling, calendaring, and catering for internal and external audits.

Coordinates all candidate communications and interview scheduling.

Manages all aspects of large meetings (> 50 people) including scheduling, catering, and any special planning.

Manages and coordinates master service agreements, statements of work, purchase orders, invoices, monthly financial accruals, and monitors spend to budget for EHS cost centers. Provides monthly financial tracking information and performs expense investigations as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

* 0-2 years of project coordination/management or administrative committee with a Bachelor's Degree (or 4+ years with an AA)

* Passion for business process improvements and commitment to creating a superb client experience

* Strong skill level within Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

* Excellent communication both written and verbal

* Highly effective team player and collaborator and demonstrated ability to take direction from multiple leaders from the organization while staying organized

* Understanding of DE&I and its importance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience with IT software and database systems (i.e. Tableau) and data analytics skills

* Project Management experience
