Job Description
On a typical day, a Cybersecurity Planning Advisor partners with enterprise architects, business units, and technical teams to gather and prioritize security requirements, translating high level strategy into clear roadmaps, solution designs, and implementation plans. They review and approve security architectures to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, operable, and practical, while providing ongoing oversight throughout delivery to ensure both security and usability goals are met. Acting as a cybersecurity subject matter expert, they apply a “cyber lens” across enterprise initiatives, assess and prioritize cybersecurity risks, support remediation efforts, engage with vendors to evaluate and shape solutions, contribute to enterprise wide security initiatives, and stay current on industry trends, threats, and best practices across IT and OT domains.

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years designing and implementing enterprise scale cybersecurity solutions
• At least 4 years in a strategic, advisory, or architecture-focused role
• Proven experience acting as a technical architect or cybersecurity advisor
• Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments
• Ability to translate enterprise architecture vision into executable security solutions
• Deep expertise in at least two of the following domains:
o Identity & Access Management (IAM)
o Cloud Security
o Application Security
o OT / ICS Security
o Network Security
o Endpoint Security
o Security Monitoring & Operations
o Threat & Vulnerability Management
o Data Protection
o Infrastructure & Data Centre Security
• Strong understanding of security design, implementation planning, and risk management
• Ability to review, challenge, and approve technical solution designs and implementation plans
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong proficiency in:
o Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
o Visio
o SharePoint
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CISSP, CISM, or similar cybersecurity certifications
Experience with NERC CIP compliance
Background in regulated or critical infrastructure environments
Hands on experience specifically in:
• Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Cloud Security
• Application Security
• Operational Technology (OT)
