Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a dynamic Senior Platform Engineer to join one of North America's largest retail and wellness organizations.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex platform systems and capabilities spanning multiple teams and services, establishing technical direction for the platform domain including infrastructure patterns, automation standards, and tooling strategies while ensuring solutions meet scalability and reliability requirements. You will make implementation decisions for platform domain including infrastructure design, automation approaches, and technology integration strategies, conduct high-impact reviews focusing on platform quality and long-term maintainability, and establish platform engineering standards adopted across the domain. You will mentor platform engineers at multiple levels providing guidance on advanced infrastructure concepts and career development, partner with engineering leadership on platform strategy and roadmap planning, and lead resolution of critical platform issues and production incidents.

Select responsibilities include:

Engineer sophisticated container orchestration strategies, and cloud infrastructure abstractions enabling engineering teams to operate at scale
Design and build advanced CI/CD and delivery systems supporting complex workflows, artifact management, and deployment patterns across multiple environments
Design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable AD/DNS architectures across hybrid, and cloud environments
Architect and deploy comprehensive observability platforms including logging architecture, metrics frameworks, distributed tracing systems, and intelligent alerting platforms
Lead incident response for critical platform issues coordinating cross-team efforts, conducting deep technical investigations, and driving reliability improvements

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree beneficial
8–10 years of experience developing enterprise platform systems and leading infrastructure initiatives across engineering teams, or equivalent
Proven experience building and maintaining platform infrastructure applying established automation standards; track record of driving platform automation decisions across multiple teams
Strong experience with Enterprise DDI Platforms, Active Directory–integrated DNS & Hybrid and Cloud environments (Azure/AWS preferred)
Experience in migrating Active Directory to Entra ID. Advanced skills/proficiency and knowledge of Windows Server OS, GPOs, Active Directory (including migrations using tools), DNS & DHCP
Demonstrated ability to architect cloud infrastructure supporting diverse workload requirements; experience designing compute, storage, and networking abstractions balancing performance, cost, and developer experience
Experience engineering intuitive self-service capabilities including APIs, CLIs, and portals that dramatically improve developer productivity; proven ability to design developer tools and workflows enabling teams to operate independently
