Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Engineer (CP) for a Vancouver-based firm specializing in complex building approvals, permitting strategy, and development coordination. We work closely with municipalities, AHJs, our clients and project teams to move challenging projects forward efficiently and intelligently.

Their practice sits at the intersection of permitting, code, and approvals. We’re known for being responsive, maintaining deep customer relationships and actively listening to our clients wants and needs. We are familiar with how projects actually get approved at the governing authority level in the Lower Mainland and understand in detail all requirements to make submissions as flawless as possible.

As our workload continues to accelerate, we are seeking a senior-level Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), ideally with Certified Professional (CP) designation, who is ready to step into a role with real authority, trust, and influence.
This is not a pre-defined role. We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership, make decisions, and help shape how projects are delivered as the firm scales. You will be stepping into a visible leadership role with the opportunity to directly impact project outcomes, internal processes, and the future direction of the company.

This is a senior, autonomous position for an experienced code professional who understands both technical requirements, the municipal process, and can lead projects with internal staff and clients.

You will play a key role in:

Leading and supporting complex permitting and approvals for predominantly commercial clients, along with mixed-use, and multi-family projects. Many of our projects occur within existing buildings and experience with navigating grey zones in this realm of work is an asset.
Acting as a technical authority on BCBC, BCFC, VBBL, and municipal bylaws
Coordinating directly with City staff, plan checkers, and AHJs
Supporting or acting in a Certified Professional (CP) capacity (where applicable) with the eventual possibility of leading a Code consulting department within the office. This includes preparing code reports and alternate solutions.
Advising clients and internal teams on risk, strategy, and compliance
Mentoring junior staff and contributing to internal standards and best practices

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.To learn more about how we collect, keep, and process your private information, please review Insight Global's Workforce Privacy Policy: https://insightglobal.com/workforce-privacy-policy/.
