Job Description

The Stations Senior Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, plays a key role in delivering substation projects by collaborating with internal stakeholders and engineering teams to execute designs, prepare construction packages, support field execution, and lead project closeout.

This position serves as Engineer of Record for in‑house designs and as the owner’s engineer for outsourced work, ensuring adherence to standards, timelines, and technical expectations. The role involves performing and overseeing advanced engineering analyses, guiding junior engineers, and managing a diverse portfolio of complex projects with strong attention to risk, quality, budgeting, and scheduling.

The Senior Engineer also provides construction support, maintains up‑to‑date technical knowledge, and contributes to continuous improvement by sharing expertise and strengthening engineering processes across the organization.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

8+ years of utility‑based substation engineering and project management experience

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC

Strong technical knowledge of utility systems, including stations, transmission, distribution, and substation design

Demonstrated experience in project execution, safe work practices, and multidisciplinary communication

Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office, Primavera, SharePoint, and analysis tools such as ETAP and CymeTCC

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience across multiple utilities, bringing a broad and adaptable industry background

Strong team alignment with a collaborative, positive working style
