Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Software Engineer to join an enterprise AAA game company hybrid out of Vancouver BC on a permanent basis. As a Software Engineer in the Platform team, you will be responsible for building tools and technologies in support of the company’s Systems Test (SysTest) team’s goal of ensuring game launches are as smooth as possible for millions of players worldwide. Working closely with the SysTest team, console, mobile game teams, and platform services teams, you will focus on ensuring online services are scalable, reliable, and meet performance expectations. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Model game client online behavior and develop realistic automated simulations

Develop tools and technologies to support production focused environments

Understand and follow standard software engineering processes and best practices for requirements, design, implementation, and testing

Be part of the exciting process of building AAA games for world-renowned franchises

Required Skills & Experience

Great stakeholder communication, self-managed, able to work in ambiguity, resourceful and possesses an understanding of why stress testing high performance and high availability distributed systems is important for our players

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, with 1+ year of working experience

Practical experience with C++

Solid understanding of software development and software quality assurance concepts, debugging processes, and procedures

Familiarity with software versioning systems and CI/CD pipelines and tools to implement them (Jenkins, git, GitLab, Perforce)

Experience with the development and testing of large-scale distributed systems

Experience with AWS and Google cloud-based technologies (Amazon EC2, Kubernetes, etc.) and familiarity with microservices-oriented architectures

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Practical experience with C#, Java and/or Python

Experience coordinating people
