Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Business Analyst to serve as the crucial link between the business stakeholders and the technical data team for a large maritime transportation company. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for extracting high-level business needs and translating them into actionable functional specifications for Data Scientists and Data Engineers. The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the data solutions that are built, whether they are data pipelines, analytics dashboards, or machine learning models,
solve the right problems and deliver tangible value.

Required Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience working as a Business Analyst, particularly on data-driven initiatives or within analytics-focused teams.
Strong communication abilities: able to break down technical ideas for business audiences and translate business needs clearly to technical teams.
Excellent documentation skills: capable of creating clear, detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Solid data understanding: familiarity with foundational data concepts such as data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, and introductory machine learning principles.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience using Databricks for data validation or independent analysis.
Comfort working with project management platforms like Jira or Asana.
Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Plotly Dash.
Understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
