Job Description
As a key member of the Oracle Cloud ERP program, you will lead the data conversion workstream. You’ll collaborate with the companies IT Engineering teams, development teams (Great Plains and EBS), and external partners (e.g., Deloitte) to define, build, and execute the ETL strategy that migrates finance and procurement data from multiple legacy systems—Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP)—into Oracle Cloud ERP.
You will own data profiling, mapping, cleansing, deduplication, reconciliation, mock conversions, cutover, and post–go-live stabilization to ensure accurate and trusted data is available for Day 1 and beyond.
Own the data conversion plan: Define scope, approach, tools, sequencing, and timelines for extract–transform–load across all in-scope objects (AR/AP transactions, POs, Customers, Suppliers, etc.).
Data profiling & discovery:
Pull sample customer and transaction datasets from both EBS and Great Plains, including lists of customers with transactions in the past 30 days, to analyze quality and identify cleansing needs.
Assess duplicates, inconsistent naming (e.g., spelling/format differences), missing values, and structural variances across systems (e.g., IAA vs. other systems).
Mapping & transformation design:
Create detailed field-level mappings from EBS/GP to Oracle Cloud ERP structures.
Define transformation rules (standardization, normalization, dedupe logic, survivorship rules, reference data harmonization).
Build & validate extracts:
Work with teams (Great Plains dev and EBS dev) to build/automate extracts.
Collaborate with RB engineering to produce the conversion templates aligned to vendor requirements.
Coordinate with Deloitte to validate template formats and loading prerequisites.
Cleansing & deduplication:
Merge customer/supplier data before load, resolve duplicates, standardize naming, addresses, and identifiers.
Implement business-approved data quality rules, and document remediation decisions.
Mock conversions & reconciliation:
Execute mock loads into non-prod, reconcile record counts/values, resolve defects, and iterate until acceptance.
Establish validation criteria and reconcile trial balances, aging, and key financial reports to confirm accuracy.
Cutover execution:
Lead final conversion during the cutover period, ensuring cleansed Day 1 spreadsheets are perfectly prepared and loaded.
Confirm that on Day 2, integrations are turned on to send live transactions from companies operational systems and that new customers created via the website after Day 1 are automatically brought in via integration.
Governance, security & compliance:
Partner with security/compliance teams to ensure data handling meets standards and audit requirements.
Maintain conversion runbooks, logs, lineage, and traceability artifacts.
Cross-functional alignment & reporting:
Provide regular updates on progress, risks, issues, and decision requests to project leadership.
Coordinate with the PM (project manager) who will drive the broader project plan; you lead the data conversion execution.
