Job Description

Our client is Vancouver-based firm specializing in innovative architectural design and comprehensive permitting solutions. They work on commercial, and mixed-use projects, with a primary focus on the hospitality industry.

They are seeking an Architect to join the growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong design expertise, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of permitting processes in British Columbia. This role involves collaborating with clients, consultants, and municipal authorities to deliver exceptional architectural solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop architectural concepts, drawings, and specifications for residential and commercial projects.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning bylaws, and permitting requirements.
• Prepare and submit permit applications, liaising with municipal authorities throughout the approval process.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project feasibility and quality.
• Project Management usually leading multiple smaller projects at once
• Utilize industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) for design and documentation.
• Stay current with BC building regulations, sustainability standards, and emerging design trends.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Registered Architect with AIBC (Architectural Institute of British Columbia) or eligible for registration.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in architectural design and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
• Strong knowledge of BC Building Code and municipal permitting processes.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
