Job Description

Insight Global is looking a Technical lead to join a Canadian Boutique financial institution. he Finance Enablement team specializes in the digital delivery of financial services to fintech partners and internal business units across North America. They support a secure and scalable interface for managing a wide range of financial transactions, including Bill Payments, EFTs, Interac eTransfers, Wire Transfers, and CAD/USD Credit and Debit payments through modern APIs.As part of the Finance Optimization Program, a multi-year modernization initiative, the team is focused on automating financial processes, reducing operational risk, and building a centralized data platform. This program spans four core streams: Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting, and FP&A, and includes over 25 targeted initiatives involving full-stack data integration, enterprise reporting automation, and regulatory data alignment. The Technical Lead will play a critical role in supporting solution architecture, design governance, and delivery excellence across this program, with a specific focus on Treasury-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
Lead the technical design of Bloomberg API integration and data flow architecture.
Build and optimize databases and pipelines to support real-time dashboards and system integrations.
Define and implement scalable API interfaces for internal consumption.

Development & Deployment
Develop solutions using Java, Docker, SQL, and Terraform.
Oversee application packaging, versioning, and deployment across environments.
Ensure alignment with internal infrastructure and deployment practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with Treasury, Finance, Engineering, QA, IT Ops, and Bloomberg technical teams.
Partner with BSAs, PMs (e.g., Lei), and Tech Leads (e.g., Francois) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Support cross-functional use of Bloomberg data for trading and audit purposes.

Process Optimization
Streamline manual finance processes and enable scalable service delivery.
Ensure integration supports audit-readiness and regulatory compliance.

Quality Assurance & Governance
Collaborate with QA to validate test cases and ensure robust integration.
Participate in architecture review boards and design governance processes.

Required Skills & Experience

About you / qualifications :
• More than 10 years of experience working in software development.
o Experience working on cloud-native microservices is required.
o Experience working in finance or accounting an asset.
o Experience working in the banking industry or fintech an asset.
o Experience building complex systems, with scalability, performance, reliability, and resiliency.
• More than 6 years of experience designing and delivering data management systems
o Strong knowledge of API standards, architectural styles and technologies such as RESTful APIs, Webhooks, GraphQL, Websocket, gRPC, …
o Experience authoring, implementing and consuming APIs using OpenAPI 3.x specifications.
o Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining databases to collect, preserve, and query data coming from different sources and formats.
o Experience with designing for security, performance, and scalability.
• Experience in the operation and support of business-critical production systems
o Incident management
o Root cause analysis
o Observability & Monitoring
• Experience leading a development team, including responsibilities for design, development, code reviews, and delivery, and managing contractors.
• Experience creating and refining requirements, non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, definition-of-done, etc.
